Trent Dilfer isn't a starting QB with a future, so the Browns have to have somebody to prepare at the position. With the third choice they should be able to land Utah's Alex Smith or Cal's Aaron Rodgers. But the Browns also are interested in Charlie Frye of Akron, whose size (6-4, 217) and touch interests a number of clubs. Romeo Crennel might prefer to trade down, accumulate additional picks and invest one in Frye, who is from Ohio.
